Learn more''Je suis Pure'', by Florence-Léa Siry
Hello, my name is Florence-Léa Siry, I am a zero-waste expert and owner of the brand Flonette (we are a few days away from launching the official website, yeah!). In my opinion, we should learn to curb the reflex of consuming to meet a need. I much prefer to create, because I feel that I am more in solidarity with the planet and, as a result, I really take part in the change. Creating content for Pure Earth Month was not my idea, and that's the wonderful thing about the Pure team. It's that they exceed my standards for committing to the environment. Let me tell you about them.- - In March 2020, just before the pandemic began, I met with Anthony Poitras, General Manager at Total Fabrication. My initial goal was to find a new partner to manufacture and distribute my solid dish soaps. I found way more than expected. I knew about Pure products (Almond blossom team!), but I had no idea that I would fall in love with this genuinely kind-hearted company. I was charmed by their social commitment but as a bonus, the team is also very, very committed to improving the health of the planet. - I am proud to say that I have been working with Total Fabrication for the past year. They did me the honor of welcoming me in their family. They gave me a lot of laughs, stars in my eyes but above all: my Flonette. It was natural for me to want to be their new face for Pure Earth Month. We all want a healthier planet!
Learn more2021 : One step at a time!
As we all know, only a small percentage of New Year's resolutions are kept. And that's really not a big deal.In our opinion, the new year is mostly a number, a symbolic moment to allow us to take a step back from our actions, our successes, and even our failures of the past year. A moment to realize that we are not perfect and that it is perfectly human to have "relapses". And that there's no point in putting pressure on ourselves. It's so much easier and more rewarding to just try to be a better version of ourselves!•••If you have decided in 2021 to make more eco-friendly choices to take care of our beautiful planet :We are so proud of you! We're here to make your life easier and help you do small things that will make a big difference (without you even realizing it!).Did you know that in 2020, in collaboration with our retailers and our #jesuispure community, we managed to save over a million bottles from our oceans, simply by reusing them? It's the proof that every little thing, big or small, counts. It really does.In 2021, don't be too hard on yourself. If you feel like it, set realistic goals that you really want to achieve, and go at your own pace. Here are a few steps you can take to get more eco-friendly in 2021:Sort through the products you already have and determine what you need.Don't throw anything away (except what's no longer good, of course!) Take time to use your products down to the last drop before thinking about buying more. You can also give them to your friends and family or even to animal shelters - they need them all the time!Start with products that are easy to integrate into your everyday life: our Laundry Detergent has been our most popular product for over 10 years because, in addition to being biodegradable, it is extremely effective, concentrated and, of course, available in bulk. There is also our Body Hand Soap and our Dish Soap which are guaranteed favorites. You can't go wrong with these products!Start refilling in bulk! It's easy (for real). We now have over 1000 retailers across Canada. There's probably a Pure filling station near you where you can go to fill your bottles! Find yours here.Be proud of the changes you are making in your life, for yourself and for our planet! We wish you a beautiful and sweet year 2021!
Learn morePure giving for Christmas!
In 2020, Pure received an immense outpouring of love. You've been so generous to us, and we're beyond grateful. So it was only natural for us to give back to the community. As the holiday season approaches, we wanted to do something that would make a difference to keep everyone healthy and safe, especially those in need. Because we believe everyone is essential. That's why we reached out to two of our friends and partners with whom we've collaborated throughout the year: Florence-Léa Siry and Andréanne Marquis . We asked them to each choose an organization that was close to their hearts and to which we could donate hand sanitizers, laundry detergents, and hand soaps. Florence-Léa chose to donate to Moisson Montréal , an organization that collects donations of food and essential products throughout the year to offer them free of charge to more than 200 community organizations. For her part, Andréanne was already associated with Pignon Bleu in Quebec City, thanks to her company Womance's "Give to Help" campaign. Pignon Bleu is an organization whose mission is to contribute to food security for children and families, to support the development of children in need in Quebec City, and to contribute to the training and integration into the workforce of unemployed people. This week, we donated over 2,500 hand sanitizers, laundry detergents, and hand soaps to these organizations, worth over $25,000. Mission accomplished (and we're very proud of it!). We've mobilized so that together, we can one day say that the pandemic is finally behind us. Thanks again to Florence-Léa and Andréanne Marquis for their time and their kind gesture. We wish you all to take good care of yourselves, to give if you can and of course, sweet and happy holidays!
Learn moreThe life of our 20L containers!
Pure offers to consumers a convenient access to bulk with 500 refill stations and to retailers to reduce plastic. Did you know that once the 20L uses is finished in store, it comes back to our factory in St-Alexandre-de-Kamouraska ? It is preciously sanitized and ready to be used again.
Learn moreDo you have a wellness routine?
According to the dictionary, a routine is: a mechanical habit, unthinking, and resulting from a succession of actions repeated over and over again. There are many benefits to having a routine. Less stress, more efficiency. At work, in our consumption habits (hello bulk) ... but we sometimes forget to have one to take care of ourselves. Everyone faces their share of challenges, especially this year, and it's important to put our daily tornadoes on hold and put aside everything, EVERYTHING! Since the beginning of the pandemic, having a personal routine has become a priority for many of us, for our well-being, for our motivation but also for our mental health. In addition, there are many solutions to take care of ourselves and the planet at the same time. Eco-friendly solutions such as our body care line (a good lavender Bubble bath to relax), but since a few months, we have also added to our routine the Nordora skincare products. A soft moment to our skin to wish ourselves a good day or a good night.@jenyferhodgsonNORDORAWe are pleased to welcome Nordora products to our platform. This Canadian brand revalorizes elements of our nature that would otherwise be destined to be abandoned. Giving a second life, we LOVE it! They have quickly become our favorite products for the skincare routine. Eight years of research and development have led to the creation of Nordora products, which are made with bioactive ingredients from Quebec nature: they are specifically formulated to allow our skin to survive the four seasons. In addition to sharing values similar to Pure, these products regenerate the skin's protective barrier and are excellent anti-inflammatory for winter. Discover now the Nordora line on our website!
Learn moreFor clothes that smell good
Ahhh! The smell of freshly washed clothes... Dip your nose in the blankets that have just been dried on the clothesline... Let’s admit it, we all do it! Now that winter is just around the corner and we can no longer hang our laundry on the clothesline, that's no reason for our clothes to smell bad! That's why we wanted to share with you our 3 miracle tricks to make your clothes, sheets and towels smell good. All this in an eco-friendly way!Fabric SoftenerOur Laundry Detergent does not technically need to be combined with fabric softener: the sum of its ingredients makes it soften fabrics and reduce static electricity. BUT we know that you want your clothes to be clean AND to smell great! One of the best ways to do this is to add a capful of our Fabric Softener to your load. Use the same aroma as your Detergent to enhance the scent, or make mixes (Vanessa loves to mix Lavender Detergent with Almond Blossom Fabric Softener!). And if you hang your clothes to dry inside, the whole house will smell great!Linen WaterFor clothes you want to be lightly scented or simply to refresh those that have been lying in the back of your wardrobe for too long: spray them with Linen Water! As it is water-based, it is safe for fabrics and won’t stain them. And the aroma will stay on your clothes all day long. We also like to spray it generously on our couches, sheets, cushions and even on our curtains! You will thank us later ;-)Odour eliminatorSportsmen and women in the square? To deodorize clothes, gym bag or even shoes that smell funny, spray Odour Eliminator on them without moderation. In addition to leaving a soft aroma on fabrics, Odour Eliminator will destroy sources of odour thanks to the microorganisms it contains. And if you don't play sports, you can also deodorize your dog's bed without any danger to their health.
Learn moreJessica's Testimonial on Pure's Eco-friendly Fundraising Campaign
In the summer of 2019, I went to the community of Villa Riva in the Dominican Republic to participate in the expansion of an educational community garden that was set up in the summer of 2018 and to which I contributed. This project, overseen by the Youth Foundation for Sustainable Development and the organization Acompa Mundo, aimed to train young people from the community in the basics of permaculture so that they could gradually take charge of the garden. In addition, it was a good way to prevent juvenile delinquency and to provide tools to promote self-sufficiency.Having caught the international cooperation bug, I was to return to the same community in the summer of 2020 to participate in the construction of an eco-responsible house made of recycled tires and bottles. A great way to contribute to the preservation of our environment as well as the well-being of a family in need! Unfortunately, this international cooperation mission has been postponed to a later date due to the current COVID-19 pandemic. In order to help me finance these projects, I contacted a company in my home region that I particularly like: Pure. In addition to smelling good and being effective, Pure household and body products are biodegradable, not tested on animals and allow for a significant reduction in plastic consumption since they are sold in bulk and can be refilled over and over again. The company's values are therefore directly related to my eco-responsible home construction project in Dominican Republic.Pure’s fundraising campaign concept is simple. In addition to being healthy, the products are easy to sell because they meet a universal need: cleanliness! Plus, they offer a wide variety of products so that there is something for everyone, and the products offered in the campaign are sold at the same price as in store. Depending on the option chosen, each participant can take orders on a form or ask his or her buyers to do so directly on the website. All this (ordering and payment) can be done remotely (I live in Gatineau and the company is located in Saint-Alexandre-de-Kamouraska) and that's it! The order arrives very quickly at the location desired by the participant or the buyers. Once their bottles are empty, they can go to one of the company’s retailers to fill their bottles with products sold in bulk! What’s better than encouraging a local business!Without any hesitation, I recommend that you contact the people at Pure for your fundraising campaign. They are always very enthusiastic about the idea of collaborating in our projects and are very welcoming.Thank you Pure! You have made and continue to make a difference in my international cooperation projects!Jessica HouleDevelopment Worker
Learn moreAugust 22, 2020 : Earth Overshoot Day
I don't know if this is good news or bad news. Last Saturday, August 22nd, was earth overshoot day. That’s when we exhausted all our resources on earth for the year 2020. Did you know that? Basically, we have 4 months left before New Year's Eve party, living with the same – already loaded – credit card. Until the end of 2020, we’re living beyond our means. According to the Global Footprint Network, we’re living at a rate of 1.6 planets (when we only have one). This is still far too much! In 2019, July 29th was earth overshoot day. The pandemic allowed us to gain 3 weeks over last year. Good news! The new habits we have adopted are bearing fruit: making our list before going out, limiting our trips, buying local in bulk, getting deliveries! We must not lose all these good new habits. We really hope you got into bulk this year, because bulk, among many other actions, has helped our beautiful planet get better (you should read our blog about it: I can finally breathe!).Changing habits spontaneously is not easy - we know that. We're here for you, and we won't let you down! We'll continue to show you how simple and easy it is to buy in bulk. And most importantly, we'll continue to talk to you about the environment. It's our priority to focus on eco-responsible choices. Because we are much more than just soap bottles. The day we will stop repeating tips about the environment is when everyone will put their heart into it.
Learn moreOur vacation in Quebec!
Since the beginning of summer, social networks have been flooded with so many pictures of landscapes, rivers, but most of all, smiles. Quebecers have (re)discovered Quebec's regions and nature during their vacation. Spectacular shots of our forests, flowers and, above all, our beautiful St. Lawrence river. People finally came to see the most beautiful sunset in the province, in Rivière-du-Loup (2nd in the world!).Through all these pictures, we saw a lot of softness. And that really warmed our hearts. Lots of beautiful tourists, proud to be close to natural wonders. So inspiring, so relaxing. Through it all, I couldn't help but think about how important it is to take care of it. We’re aware that we are privileged here in the Lower St. Lawrence to get to see the river every day, and it motivates us to take care of it every day as well. At Pure, we take action to keep it beautiful for a long time. This is our commitment.Because we want to see you here again next summer, we need your help too. Thank you for taking care of it as much as we do!
